Data analyses à la carte

Instructions

Creating an account
  • An account is needed in order to request analyses, download analysis results, view order history and many more.
  • Accounts are free and merely require a valid email address and some standard personal information such as name & address.
  • To create a new account, you can follow this link.
Requesting a new analysis
  • A new analysis is requested by submitting an order through our website. You must create a free account and be logged in to submit orders.
  • The easiest way to start is by visiting our catalog and clicking on the desired analysis. This will take you to the analysis' front page, from where you can start a new order.
  • You will be guided through a configuration step, where you can tune common parameters and add optional parts.
  • You may also be asked to upload input data, for example raw DNA sequences in the case of some bioinformatics workflows.
  • Configuration and data upload (if applicable) are followed by a basic automated validation on our side, the successful completion of which is a prerequisite for submitting your order.
  • You can re-configure your order, re-upload data, see the final price or cancel your order, before submitting it. After submission, no changes are possible.
  • By submitting your order you commit to paying the associated fee once it becomes due (see payment modalities below).
  • Depending on the analysis, computation may take a few seconds to several days to finish.
  • Results typically include a summary report, data products for any further analyses, and a writeup of methods that you can use in your publications.
  • If you have any questions during this process, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Verifying your organization
If you are affiliated with a major organization, such as a university, hospital or government agency, and plan to place orders on behalf of that organization, we recommend verifying your affiliation. One benefit is that you get access to more complex analyses, which we currently only offer to users from major organizations. In some cases you also get access to more flexible billing conditions.

To request a verification of your organizational affiliation:
  • Visit your profile page.
  • Ensure your organization's name is provided in your profile.
  • Ensure that your email address on record is associated with that organization, i.e., is within the organization's domain.
  • If your organization's website lists your name or profile somewhere, please enter it into the "websites" field to facilitate the verification process.
  • Save your updated profile if needed, then click the "Request verification" button that appears.
  • We will check your provided information and notify you via email once verification is complete.
Billing and payment
  • The precise billing process depends on the type of analysis requested and - for more complex analyses - whether you have a verified affiliation with a major organization (see above). The billing process for an analysis is explained on each analysis' front page, after you log in.
  • We generally either request payment upon order submission or upon completion of computations, and expect payment prior to proceeding to the next step. For example, upon completion of computations, we may release a preview of results and request payment, making the full results available upon receiving payment.
  • The price of an order will depend on the type of analysis, but may also depend on the size of your input data, optional add-ons selected during the order's configuration, and any applied vouchers. The final price will be available prior to submission.
  • With some exceptions, we generally accept cheques and online credit card payments. Instructions are provided on the invoice that we issue.
  • Credit card payments are conducted through a secure channel at our partner PayPal. We never store your credit card information on our servers!
  • In rare circumstances, e.g., for some exceptional input data, an analysis may completely fail, in which case we typically waive your fee or issue a refund.
